Once you have qualified as a Non-Domestic Energy Assessor (NDEA) you will be able to join Elmhurst’s government approved Non-Domestic Energy Assessor accreditation scheme, free of charge.
As an accredited NDEA you will be able to assess commercial buildings and lodge legally valid Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) to the relevant EPC Registers in the UK.

A lodgement fee is the cost for making an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), or other report, valid by registering it onto the central register and with a report certificate number. The fee is charged per entry (per lodgement).
For support with your application, please contact the accreditation team on the below:
Alongside your personal/contact information, you will need to upload:
- Proof of identity,
- Certificate of Qualification.
Once you submit your application, the Elmhurst accreditation team will process it and get in touch if any information is missing.
One your application is processed, you will receive a welcome email with login instructions to the Elmhurst members area; this will provide you with access to our online software, welcome packs and relevant guidance documents.
Elmhurst aims to process all applications within 7-10 working days.

Third Party Software:
You can also use a range of third party software to create and lodge EPCs with Elmhurst. You will simply need to notify us and provide evidence of training to use the software.

There is a £10 +VAT charge when you lodge.

You do not need to complete other scheme or competency scheme training to be an NDEA. However, there are a number of competency schemes that are beneficial to the role. These include:

Yes. You can submit your application to join multiple Elmhurst schemes, as long as you hold the relevant qualifications.
Better yet, if you are a member of two or more certification schemes, or one certification scheme and one competency scheme, you may be eligible to become an Elmhurst Better Buildings Consultant.
It is important that assessors maintain a good level competency in order to deliver quality assessments to homeowners. If you have spent time away from the industry, you may be required to undergo refresher training, or retraining, to ensure that you are up to date with industry changes.
