With Elmhurst’s ABBE Display Energy Certificate (DEC) Assessor course, those new and familiar with the non-domestic sector can gain the relevant ABBE qualification to undertake energy calculations for public buildings.
Our online training course provides learners with complete flexibility; with the option of completing training from home or the office. The course is delivered by one of our expert tutors, at a pace to suit all individuals, and ensures those who attend leave feeling confident about putting what they’ve learned into practice.
For this course you must have access to a PC or Laptop. Please note that Apple MAC Computers are NOT compatible.
During the course you will learn how to undertake energy calculations using approved Operational Rating (OR) software to produce Display Energy Certificates (DECs) for public buildings. Buildings in England, Wales and NI (different rules apply in Scotland) which are at least partially occupied by a public authority (eg council, leisure centre, college, NHS trust) will require a DEC, as long as they have a useful floor area over 250m² and are frequently visited by the public.
Delivered by trainers with real industry experience
Technical support available between 9-5pm (Mon-Fri)
Full portfolio support
Simulation test case provided
DEC test case assessment provided
Upon completion of the course, training delegates must find 2 existing public buildings to assess. Once this has been completed you will be awarded with the ABBE Level 3 Diploma in Operational Ratings, which qualifies you to deliver DEC assessments. You will also be eligible to join Elmhurst’s DEC Accreditation scheme, free of charge.
